Our Watch is a national leader of primary prevention of violence against women and their children. Our vision is an Australia where women and their children live free from all forms of violence. Our role is to stop violence before it starts. We work to embed gender equality and prevent violence where Australians live, learn, work and socialise. About the role
- Hybrid and remote working arrangements available
- Full time (part time options considered)
- 12-month contract (with potential for renewal)
- $102,303 – $107,362 + 14% super + 17.5% annual leave loading
- $5000 allowance + additional 12 days leave
Working within the Government Relations, Policy and Evidence Directorate, the Senior Advisor, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Prevention works to contribute to policy work, aiming to drive nationwide change to prevent violence against women, with a strong focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children. Monitor the policy landscape and emerging debates, and identify and respond to opportunities for Our Watch to engage in public policy processes. Identify, establish, maintain and support stakeholder relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and organisations nationally, and synthesis and analyse information and evidence to develop expert policy analysis and advice.
This role is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only.
About you
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual, with tertiary qualifications in social or political science, public policy, law, gender studies, or other area of relevance (or equivalent experience). You have a deep understanding of violence against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children and the key drivers of this. You will have strong stakeholder relationship skills, with a demonstrated ability to work and collaborate with a diverse range of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and non-Aboriginal stakeholders. And a strong understanding of the current policy and political landscape related to primary prevention.
