About the role

Reporting to the Manager City Cleansing and Resource Recovery, you will act as the key point of contact between the City Cleansing and Resource Recovery team and the community. You will also ensure timely and accurate handling of community concerns, provide effective communication, and maintain high standards of customer service while addressing and resolving escalated issues.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Certificate IV or equivalent experience in customer service, communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing customer or community relations in an operational setting, with a strong focus on proactive service.
  • Proven ability to manage escalated service issues and complex community concerns with professionalism, empathy, discretion, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills to track issues, interrogate systems, review data, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Strong written skills, including preparing accurate and clear correspondence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in technology and data systems for tracking and reporting community interactions.
  • Understanding of local government operations and the regulatory environment.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
