About the opportunity

The Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC) is Australia's anti-money laundering regulator and specialist financial intelligence unit. In our regulatory role AUSTRAC oversees compliance with the requirements of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act).

We are looking for people who are proactive, willing to be bold and bring in new ideas. We are looking for individuals who are open and curious about new perspectives, new thinking and new ways of working.

We are currently seeking Communications, Design and Multimedia Professionals with qualifications and experience in different disciplines, including skills across one or more of these key areas:

  1. Content development, including design and content writing
  2. Channel management, including publishing (website, social media, electronic direct mail and agency intranet)
  3. Website publishing and content management
  4. Social media management, including content development and reporting
  5. Channel performance reporting and analytics
  6. Audience insights and reporting
  7. Communications strategy, planning, development, implementation and evaluation
  8. Advertising campaign planning, development, implementation and evaluation
  9. Graphic and visual design, including brand management
  10. Multimedia production
  11. Media engagement and public relations
  12. Stakeholder engagement
  13. Speechwriting

  1. Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in one of the following areas:
  2. Communications
  3. Media
  4. Marketing & advertising
  5. Journalism
  6. Graphic design
  7. Digital media
  8. Communication & writing skills – Being able to demonstrate strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex information using plain English, prepare briefs and talking points, and tailor messaging effectively for diverse stakeholders.
  9. Coordination & judgement – Being able to demonstrate strong and strategic coordination and collaboration skills, effectively managing competing priorities and timelines, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring tasks and deliverables are executed efficiently within dynamic environments.
  10. Digital & communication channels - Experience using and managing digital platforms, content management systems or communication tools to support engagement activities to deliver impactful and measurable results.

Key duties

The Communications, Design and Multimedia Professionals may be responsible for:

Content, design and creative development

  1. Develop, draft, edit and review marketing and communication content for internal and external audiences.
  2. Design and produce visual, creative and multimedia products that support organisational communication, engagement and education objectives.
  3. Translate complex information into clear, accurate, accessible and engaging written and visual formats.
  4. Produce content and design assets across a range of formats and channels, including digital, print, campaign and multimedia materials.

Marketing and communications, campaign and digital support

  1. Support the planning and delivery of marketing and communication campaigns aligned to organisational priorities.
  2. Contribute to coordinated campaign activity across channels to ensure consistent messaging, branding and timing.
  3. Support the creation and delivery of multimedia and digital content, including graphics and visual assets, to enhance engagement and understanding.
  4. Contribute creative and content expertise to digital communication channels and campaigns.

Visual communication, branding and governance

  1. Apply branding, visual identity, editorial standards, style guides and approval processes to ensure quality and compliance.
  2. Ensure all communication and design products meet quality, accessibility and usability standards.
  3. Identify and manage risks relating to accuracy, tone, sensitivity, accessibility or reputational impact of content and design products.
  4. Support the development of visually consistent, audience-appropriate materials aligned with approved messaging and communication strategies.

Advice, collaboration and stakeholder engagement

  1. Provide marketing, content and design advice to internal stakeholders within established frameworks and guidelines.
  2. Work collaboratively with communication, stakeholder engagement and subject matter experts to deliver integrated and effective communication products.

Continuous improvement

  1. Contribute to the evaluation and continuous improvement of marketing and design approaches, processes, tools and delivery practices.
  2. Adapt content, creative approaches and channels in response to evolving communication needs and organisational priorities.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role you:

  1. Must be an Australian citizen at the time you apply
  2. Will need to undertake AUSTRAC’s pre-engagement checks
  3. Will need to obtain and maintain an ongoing Baseline Security Clearance.
