About the Role

The Project Assistant is a project role supporting the delivery of significant First Nations-led projects and exhibitions at the heart of the Australian Museum First Nations Division. The role will work closely with the Lead, Major Projects (First Nations) to encompass exhibitions and projects associated with the creation, upgrade, and revitalisation of Museum spaces as well as other capital works projects within the First Nations Division. 

You will have the opportunity to develop specialised cultural competency and project management expertise while working with internal and external First Nations stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander exhibition contributors, community members, and Australian Museum colleagues. This is a meaningful opportunity to support projects that deliver lasting social and cultural impact while maintaining cultural integrity and applying Indigenous Cultural & Intellectual Property (ICIP) principles throughout. 

Employment Status:

  •  Clerk Grade 5/6
  •  Fixed term 2 years
  •  Full time 35 hours per week
